Rivka is an Amsterdam-based art director and stylist for commercials, series, music videos and (VR) films. It all started one day in 2006 in her mother’s workplace in the Jordaan. A friend and client mentioned to her mother that she was very busy decorating a large set for the Dutch movie ‘Dennis P.’. Rivka heard the conversation and said, “I’m free tomorrow, I can help!”. The next day, she started her first job on a big film set, with lots of actors, extras and crew. That day she knew; this was what she was looking for her whole life. It was the perfect balance between art and creativity as well as working with budgets and numbers. Rivka finished her study in interior design, moved on to the VROP at the Rietveld Academy and then afterwards followed the one year course for Art Department Assistant at the Film Academy. Extremely driven in her passion, Rivka worked on film sets whenever she had a free day or school vacation. But she still wanted more - she wanted to showcase her own vision of how to bring scripted words to life and so she then focussed on getting work as an art director. Her big opportunity came when the art director of the pilot for ‘Queer Amsterdam’ gave her the chance to do the art direction. From that moment on, Rivka has worked for major brands eg. Iglo, Opel and Liqor 43, and has made music videos for artists such as Hardwell, Afrojack and Nielson. Curious about Rivka’s work? Check her resume and feel free to contact her.
